FEDERAL COURT GRANTS HEARING IN ELECTRONIC VOTING SYSTEMS CASE

Yesterday, in response to a lawsuit filed by the Texas Democratic Party and two Dallas Co. citizens regarding the way the iVotronic voting system used by Dallas County counts straight ticket votes differently, U.S. District Judge Jorge Solis ruled that the TDP’s claims that the voting system required pre-clearance pursuant to the Voting Rights Act had merit and ruled that the case should be decided by a three judge federal panel.
