Texas Democratic Party: Moving Texas Forward

Below is a statement from Texas Democratic Party Chairman Boyd Richie regarding the announcement of Texas Department of Transportation’s plans to abandon the Trans-Texas Corridor project:

“Gov. Perry’s failed transportation plan has been a massive wreck that left Texans stranded in traffic while he plotted to contract with a foreign company to manage a network of toll roads across our state.  Dropping the ‘Trans Texas Corridor’ name doesn’t change a Perry toll road agenda that has double-taxed Texans, threatened private property rights and rewarded the toll road cronies who contribute to his campaign.  There’s only one way Texans can put an end to the failures of pay to play politics: end the era of one party Republican rule.”
