#3: PERRY’S POLITICAL COVER-UP COMPROMISES TEXAS CRIMINAL JUSTICE
October 14th, 2009

Perry FailureIn recent weeks, numerous media reports suggest Rick Perry has attempted to cover up an investigation and expert report – authorized by his own Forensic Science Commission appointees – that indicates the State of Texas may have executed an innocent man in 2004 based on faulty arson evidence. Perry described his role in preventing the Commission’s review of the report as “business as usual” – which is tragically true. Throughout 25 years as a career politician, it’s been “business as usual” for Rick Perry to ignore or dismiss facts that don’t further his personal political ambition, without regard to what is best for Texans. #4: PERRY EDUCATION REPORT CARD: F
October 13th, 2009

Perry FailureThere are over 4.65 million school children in 1,031 school districts in Texas, and during Rick Perry’s 25 years as a career politician, he’s neglected all of them. In 2006, facing the threat of Texas schools being closed under a Texas Supreme Court order, Perry and the Republican-controlled legislature were forced to address the school finance crisis. Predictably, they only made things worse for Texas taxpayers and school children. (more…)

#5: LA HIPOCRESIA DE PERRY EN CUANTO AL ESTIMULO LE CUESTO A LOS TEJANOS
October 12th, 2009

(more…)

#5: PERRY’S STIMULUS HYPOCRISY COSTS TEXANS
October 12th, 2009

Perry FailureDuring last spring’s legislative session, at the same time Rick Perry and his fellow Republicans were using over $11 billion in federal stimulus funds to bail themselves out of a state budget hole, the Governor had a chance to address the state’s Unemployment Insurance crisis. Instead, all Texans got from Rick Perry was partisan hypocrisy. (more…)

Where is Kay Bailey Hutchison on transportation?
The Dallas Morning News—October 12th, 2009

The DMN editorial board, for which I write, has slammed Rick Perry for a lot recently, like his handling of the Willingham capital murder case, his quip about the Texas recession and his heavy hand in university affairs. I have written some of these, and with relish. He deserved both barrels for hitting the ejector button on the Forensic Science Commission chief, for example. (more…)

#7 – PERRY TAKING A TOLL ON TEXANS
October 8th, 2009

Perry FailureRick “Tax and Toll” Perry has proposed some rotten pay to play schemes in his 25 years as a career politician, but the Trans-Texas Corridor proposal may be the worst. Although the “tax and toll” funded Trans-Texas Corridor concept has been retired, Texans have already paid $59.4 million for a bad idea, and there may not be an off ramp for Texas taxpayers who will be footing the bill for this massive failure for years to come.
