State Farm must repay $310 million to Texas homeowner policyholders

State-Agency-ScandalsEn 2005 y 2006, Texas Ranger Roger Burzynski mandó a oficiales federales y estatales reportes detallados de abuso sexual en un complejo de la región oeste de Texas de la Comisión Juvenil de Texas, pero los líderes Republicanos no actuaron. En Febrero del 2007, después de que los legisladores se enteraran de abuso por los reportajes de la prensa, el representante estatal Jim McReynolds le hizo una pregunta al Asistente del Procurador General de la oficina de Abbott  que jamás ha sido contestada: “¿Leíste el reporte de los Rangers?” preguntó el Rep. STATE AGENCY SCANDAL #2: CHILD ABUSE, NEGLECT CONTINUE UNDER REPUBLICAN RULE

State-Agency-ScandalsTexas Republicans’ embrace of pay-to-play politics has led to years of neglect for our Child Protective Services (CPS) system. Since 2004, 1,227 children in Texas have died of abuse or neglect – approximately 200 each year. Of those children, forty-two percent were visited and had cases with Texas Child Protective Services – a number that has not changed in the five years since Governor Rick Perry and the Republican-controlled Legislature made drastic cuts to Texas’ CPS budget. Desafortunadamente,  Rick Perry y los partidistas nombrados por el en el Departamento de Servicios para Adultos Mayores y Personas Discapacitadas (DADS) fueron seriamente negligentes en su responsabilidades de proteger a los residentes de las escuelas estatales y como consecuencia los empleados abusaron de los residentes hasta el punto de organizar peleas entre ellos para su propio entretenimiento.  (more…)

Unfortunately, Rick Perry and his partisan appointees at the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) severely neglected their responsibility to protect those who live at these state schools, to the point that employees used residents to participate in staged “fight clubs” for their own twisted amusement.  (more…)
