TDP Platform Outlines the Need for Immigration Reform
Today, President Obama outlined the need to put aside partisan posturing to enact comprehensive immigration reform that demands accountability and responsible action. Last week, the Texas State Democratic Convention adopted a 2010 platform that calls for a balanced federal immigration policy that secures our borders, imposes sanctions against those who hire undocumented workers, provides a path for qualified individuals to earn citizenship, and rejects state laws that would discriminate against American citizens and divert resources from local law enforcement.
