The Lady Lieutenant Governor

¡Corre y se va a la Vicegobernatura de Texas!

What better way to introduce people to Senator Leticia Van de Putte than by immortalizing her into a Loteria card? La Dama Leticia personifies the state senator from San Antonio who is mighty proud of her Mexican roots, proud to frequently have mariachis play at her campaign events -- por que claro que los mariachis son sus hermanos.

Inspired by the original Mexican Loteria card of ‘La Dama (The Lady),’ this special edition card showcases Senator Leticia Van de Putte personified as The Lady Lt. Governor, holding a gavel in her right hand and ready to take the dais on the floor of the Texas Senate.

Lotería is a game similar to bingo, but instead of using numbers it uses character images on a deck of cards. Each card has a traditional character associated with it. La Dama is the second card ¡Pa’Delante Tejas! has released. In October 2013, ¡Pa’Delante Tejas! launched La Valiente Wendy (Wendy the Brave), a special edition lotería card for State Senator Wendy Davis. [Houston Chronicle,10/10/13]

As the great granddaughter of women who came from Guadalajara and Muzquiz, Coahuila, Senator Van de Putte takes these roots everywhere she goes. From her 23 years of service in the Texas Legislature, to her current challenge of running to be the next Lt. Governor of Texas, Senator Van de Putte encompasses everything we love and cherish about Texas.

Van de Putte is the proud mother of three daughters and three sons and a grandmother of six.

If you ask her, she’ll tell you: she’s in this race for them. Senator Van de Putte will fight for the future generation of Texas. For your daughters and sons, nietos and nietas; for every Texan who believes their state is worth fighting for.

She is me, she is you, and she is the future of Texas.

¡VIVA LA LETI!
