Casting multiple votes against kid's healthcare. Supporting embattled former US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. Pushing Bush's agenda to roll back voting rights and disenfranchise millions of minority voters. It seems the only person receiving a gift from Senator John Cornyn this year is George Bush. In fact, Cornyn has given so many presents to Bush this year that he's practically the President's personal Christmas elf.
In return, Bush and his cronies Karl Rove and Dick Cheney have been quick to play not-so-Secret Santa by raising money for Cornyn back home. Facing a difficult campaign next year and embarrassingly low approval ratings, Cornyn is now scrambling to cash in on all the favors he has done for the Bush Administration, no matter how many Texas kids go without health insurance or how many Texas voters are "mistakenly" disenfranchised.
When it comes to toeing the administration's line and casting bad votes, John Cornyn is Bush's gift that keeps on giving-all year round.
