Barbara Jordan National Forum on Public Policy (Social)
Distinguished National and Local Leaders To Discuss “Change” in Politics and Policies. Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. To Deliver Keynote Address

Austin, TX – The Barbara Jordan National Forum on Public Policy (BJNF) will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the University of Texas at Austin. The theme selected for this year’s forum is “Change: From What To What?,” the question Barbara Jordan posed in her 1992 keynote address to the Democratic National Convention. Jordan spoke of the need for change in much of the same way that presidential candidates speak of change in 2008. This year’s presidential election provides the forum with a contemporary context in which panelists and attendees can discuss the “change” initiated by the civil rights movement.

The forum culminates with a keynote address at 5:00 p.m. delivered by the distinguished former Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. After his speech, attendees are invited to attend a Debate Watch party.

FORUM REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.

A live webcast of the keynote address by Harold Ford, Jr. can be seen at: www.utexas.edu/lbj/webcasts
Time: Thursday, February 21 10:15 AM
Host: Mary Beth Snodgrass
Location:
University of Texas, Thompson Conference Center (Austin, TX)
