The Texas Democratic Party encourages our fellow Democrats to participate in these upcoming events supporting workers’ rights and Texas teachers:
Saturday, March 12 – Save Texas Schools rally, gather 11 a.m. at 12th & Trinity in downtown Austin, rally noon-2 p.m. at the south steps of the Capitol. This is a coalition of parents, teachers, community leaders and business leaders.
Monday, March 14 – Texas AFT Lobby Day. This is the big teacher union rally and lobbying event. Gathering point will be the Family Life Center, 13th and Lavaca St. The Texas AFL-CIO is encouraging broad union attendance at this event. Thursday, March 24 – AFSCME lobby day, focusing on correctional officers. Gathering point is Texas AFL-CIO auditorium, 1106 Lavaca St., in downtown Austin.
Wednesday, April 6 – Texas State Employees Union/CWA and Texas Forward lobby day. March, rally and lobby legislators. Gather at 11 a.m. for rally and lunch at Waterloo Park in downtown Austin. Noon rally at south steps of Capitol. The Texas AFL-CIO is encouraging broad union attendance at this event.
