Texas Democrats on Women’s History Month

Austin, TX – Women’s History Month is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of women of every race, creed, class, and sexual orientation. From organizing and marching against the Trump administration to running for office, women are leading the resistance in Texas and nationwide.

Texas Democratic Party Executive Director Crystal K. Perkins issued the following statement:

“Texas Democrats believe that when women succeed, we all win.

“We’re committed to fighting for progressive policies that help Texas women thrive. We believe that for women to succeed in the workplace, they need equal pay, paid sick leave and affordable childcare. We know the importance of women having access to affordable healthcare and better educational opportunities. We believe in preventing and ending violence and sexual harassment so that no woman has to say “Me Too” again.

“Texas Democrats will continue to stand in solidarity with women across our state and nation. Together, we’re voting, running for office, marching, resisting, and making this world a better place.”
