Training & Program Manager

Join our efforts to fight against Trump Republicans and the Trump agenda by working on the ground to build up the Texas Democratic and progressive infrastructure.

The Texas Democratic Party is hiring a Training and Program Manager. The Training and Program Manager will be responsible for creating a skills-focused training program and curriculum, as well as building volunteer and party infrastructure. With thousands of people looking to get activated this year, we are looking for someone that can help create a program that can plug-in and train up people of all skill levels, whether they are near or far from Austin.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Experience in building training curriculum and building volunteer infrastructure programs

  • Experience running large trainings and speaking in front of large audiences

  • Experience in political campaigns

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with county parties, Democratic clubs, and other progressive affiliates to develop volunteer management plans with hard and soft field goals such as voter registration, volunteer development, and blockwalk and phonebank metrics.

  • Develop training curriculum

  • Plan, organize, and run large trainings

  • Plan and host regular webinars

  • Plan, write and record short training videos on a variety of skills that activists and candidates need

  • Develop and implement a system of tracking in VAN who receives training and who has reached a level of competence

  • Provide direct volunteer support in areas without volunteer infrastructure

  • Manage relationships with allies & party infrastructure in counties across Texas

  • Provide analysis on performance and implement plans to maximize results

Location: This job is based in Austin and will require considerable travel.

Deputy Finance Director

The Texas Democratic Party (TDP) is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the position of  Deputy Finance Director.

This is a full-time position based in Austin, TX. The Deputy Finance Director will report to the Finance Director, Executive Director and work closely with the other Department Directors and Texas Democratic Party Chair.

This position will require you to take a leading role in the planning and execution of the 2018 Texas Democratic Convention.  

Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee the planning of 2018 Texas Democratic Convention. Including handling venue, vendor, and participant logistics.

  • Manage database, conduct research on current and potential contributors, and prospect for new donors. Establish and administer the TDP sustaining donor programs.

  • Coordinate with Comptroller to monitor compliance and appropriately solicit, track, and report campaign finance contributions and expenditures.

  • Raise funds through call time and ensure, prepare and staff Chair, Executive Director and Finance Chair during call time

  • Conducting accurate and timely donor follow up and acknowledgement.

  • Coordinate with Digital team to raise online contributions through innovative direct email solicitations, popular social media posts, online ads and high quality contribution web pages.

  • Schedule meetings, arrange briefings and nurture relationships with TDP stakeholders; individual contributors, labor organizations, business groups, issue advocacy groups, party leaders, elected officials and candidate campaigns.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent personal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.

  • Superior project management skills. Know how to plan a project or program, track progress, and adjust resources as needed. Understand long and short-term strategy. Be able to help create a long-term plan for the party, monitor progress, and stick to goals.

  • Fundraising prowess. Understand how both low and high-dollar fundraising works. Experience with online fundraising. Creative outreach to new funding sources. Understanding of both state and federal election law is very beneficial.

  • Willingness to travel frequently in Texas and nationally.

  • Knowledge of NGP software.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Congressional Campaign Fellowship – District 32

The Texas Democratic Party is seeking interns in Congressional District 32 this summer. Interns will get hands on experiences working with TDP field organizers as part of the effort to elect a Democrat to represent the district. They will also have the opportunity to work on the Congressional Campaign Fellowship, an initiative to recruit and train volunteers for the upcoming 2018 election.

Interns will be asked to research the district, assist in the recruitment of new Congressional Campaign Fellows, help plan and execute trainings, and work on the effort to build the activist network that will flip District 32 in 2018.

Finance Internship

The Texas Democratic Party is seeking Finance Interns. Candidates should be college students or recent graduates who are looking to gain political fundraising experience. This internship is the perfect preparation for joining a top campaign's finance operation, issue organization, or state party.Interns will work in a fast-paced environment and duties will include assisting staff with donor research, creating call sheets, fundraising calls, database management, and event planning/staffing. Strong applicants will be well organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and have a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Political Internship

The Texas Democratic Party is seeking Political Interns. Interns will get hands on experiences working at TDP’s statewide headquarters located in Austin. This is not just another paper-pushing internship – you will play a role in our coordinated campaign effort to elect Democrats all up and down the ballot across the entire state of Texas. You will learn about a modern political campaigns.Our political team is actively recruiting and helping in campaigns at all levels. Communications Internship

The Texas Democratic Party (TDP) is looking for interns to work within the communications department to foster the growth of the next generation of campaign staff and leaders.Communications Interns will play a role in our communications strategy that helps elect Democrats all across the state of Texas. Data Internship

Data interns will work with the Data Team to procure election and polling place data, oversee TDP's voter engagement tools, and assist in maintaining the state's voter data.Must have knowledge or interest in learning SQL and VAN, and knowledge of Python is a big plus.
