San Antonio Activists Plan Trip To Volunteer For Democrat Jon Ossoff In Georgia Special Election

SAN ANTONIO – This week, a group of San Antonionians will embark on a volunteer journey to Georgia to help elect Democrat Jon Ossoff to the U.S. House of Representatives. These volunteers have been working tirelessly to hold Texas Republicans like Rep. Will Hurd accountable, resist the Trump agenda, and take back Congress. They understand the value of grassroots organizing and are headed to Georgia to continue the fight.

These San Antonio volunteers will spend several days knocking on doors in Georgia to aide the Ossoff campaign in their get out the vote efforts. Last weekend, these volunteers participated in a phone bank in support of Ossoff at the home of Maria Luizzi. The race in Georgia’s 6th district is a special election to replace Tom Price who is now a member of President Trump’s cabinet as Secretary of Health and Human Services. Election Day is June 20th.

“Since participating in the Women’s March on Washington in January, I’ve made it my personal mission to get more involved. I’m excited to be working at the grassroots level and talking to folks about the most important right we have—the right to vote,” said Mary Liuzzi, a volunteer who hosted a phone bank for Ossoff in her home last week. “It’s time we elect new leaders to Congress whether it’s replacing Will Hurd here in San Antonio, or electing a great candidate like Jon Ossoff."
